Teaser Tuesdays

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Here is my teaser: It's a seaof human movement where red keg cups bob like buoys. Jason is a sole, static figure in the foyer of the house.

My Review:
Let me start by saying I have read and loved everyone of Devon Monks Allie Beckstrom books.
Magic on the hunt was what I expected from this wonderful author. A fast paced book set in Portland Oregon which happens to be about a half hour from me!  Non- stop action, creepy crazy villain's, family drama, friendship, and love . Wonderful character detail which makes you instantly feel a part of their world which, leads me to the fact that I am totally in lust with Shame! I know not a detail on the book but important none the less ;)
The only thing I found disappointing was that it had to end.
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars

But more than that, he’s being groomed by the darkest of powers and if he doesn’t learn how to raise the dead by the end of the week, he will become one of them...
My Review:
What can I say but as expected another great book by Kenyon!
As always I couldn't put the book down!
I love getting a view of nick as a teen and the rest of the characters that I fell in love/lust with while reading the dark hunter books from the view point of a smart mouthed teenager.Seeing nick go through life and death events ,meeting new people and discovering people are not at all what he thought they were is great. I am forever on the edge of my seat waiting to see how this or that will shape his life.
I totally recommend this book to all ages with 4.5 out of 5 stars!

  • Synopsis

I have two choices. Carve Brude's name into Hell's bile-encrusted gates. Or lose my soul.
After an assassination attempt on Vayl, I find myself pulled into a tangled web that takes the gang to Romania. So how will I save a ghost, rescue a demon, and cheat the Great Taker out of a soul he's slavering for while defeating my nastiest foe yet so that Vayl can, at last, cherish a few precious years with his sons? With careful planning, major violence, and one (hopefully) final trip to Hell.
    My Review:
This was the 8th and final Jaz Parks book written by Rardin whom unfortunately passed away in 2010.
I had not read the first 7 books in this series but found that the story was well written enough that I was able to read it as a stand alone although I now plan to go back and read the first 7 books.
A good read if you are looking for bad ass demon butt kicking action, crazy characters with a sense of humor, a bit of insanity and romance to boot.
I give Jaz and her motley group of willing and reluctant demon fighters a recommendation of 3.5 out of 5 stars!

      Synopsis

Can there truly be love after death?

With no recollection of her past life—or her actual death—she's trapped alone in a nightmarish existence. All of this changes when she tries to rescue a boy, Joshua, from drowning in her river. As a ghost, she can do nothing but will him to live. Yet in an unforgettable moment of connection, she helps him survive.
Amelia and Joshua grow ever closer as they begin to uncover the strange circumstances of her death and the secrets of the dark river that held her captive for so long. But even while they struggle to keep their bond hidden from the living world, a frightening spirit named Eli is doing everything in his power to destroy their newfound happiness and drag Amelia back into the ghost world . . . forever.
Thrilling and evocative, with moments of pure pleasure, Hereafter is a sensation you won't want to miss

    My Review:
While this book took me a bit to get into I found it to be altogether a pretty good story.
I always adore a good love story with twists that have you cheering the characters on and hoping they beat all the odds and boy do they have some to beat!
Between nightmares, memory loss, The evil villain,  family and the fact Amelia is a ghost you have your choice of which plot twist you like most.
I recommend this story with 3 out of 5 stars!
